Fishing in the lakes of Southern Maryland continues to be productive early in the morning and late in the evening. Largemouth bass and Crappie are active in the shallows near structure away from direct sunlight. Dry flies and ants continue to attract attention. The water is starting to cool off from the shorter days and mild August weather we have been having. The feeding activity will really begin to pickup soon if this weather continues. Keep fishing even after it gets dark, there are large fish continuing to feed late into the night.
